Short
Bio:
Nicole
I. Hamilton, enjoyed writing in high school, and
her teachers encouraged her to pursue journalism
as a career. However, Nicole decided to pursue
her interest in visual and digital art instead.
She acquired degrees in Commercial and Graphic
Design and began designing websites and promoting
herself as a freelance graphic designer.
Nicole
became very interested in SEO writing while she
worked as a web designer. She noted that websites
with valuable content consistently achieved higher
search engine rankings and received better feedback
from visitors. After spending some time studying
the aspects of SEO writing, she conducted a test
on one of her own websites. After implementing
what she had learned, the websites placement jumped
from page eight in the search engines to page
one. At that point, she realized the importance
of content writing and began to pursue it as a
career.
When
she was learning the ropes of content writing,
she briefly worked writing articles for a business
that required 5,000 to 7500 words a day. It was
a grueling position, with very low pay. She knew
there had to be an easier way to write online,
so she moved onto other jobs. She worked as a
ghostwriter for a time, and then became a technology
writer for Demand Media Studios. Finally, she
started her own content writing business, and
now enjoys working with clients online and locally.
Besides
writing and web design, Nicole has worked as a
photographer, photo editor, pencil portrait artist,
wedding florist and customer service representative.
She is well versed in many software programs,
including Photoshop, and has written a variety
of “How-To” articles using this knowledge.
